Twenty Four

Your are sunshine, you are roses
Warm and gentle
You are darkness, you are blackouts
Cold and rigid
You are a pessimist
You are an optimist
You are either
You are both
You can be both
You can choose to be both
Beautiful inside and out
You graced life, seduced life, challenged life
So far, sometimes.
Challenging life, you asked a lot of questions
Some answered, some hanging, some left unanswered
But with how you dealt and deal with life, no one can judge
No one has to say otherwise
Because how you dealt life was how you thought it would be dealt with
At that moment, in that moment, for the moment
But beneath all of it, lies a love that overflows
Love that is encompassing,
Love that gives and gives,
Love that is kind
A love that hurts.

As lightness slowly fades away, as mountains bow down
And as darkness slowly creeps in, know that in darkness one can find comfort and solace.
Not everything dark is scary and morbid
Not everything light is pretty and fine
Not everything they say reflects you, not everything you hear is true
Some choices will be your own, some choices will be for others, some choices will scare you, but all of these choices make you grow
Too soon, too fast, wishing there’s a pause to those choices—to life.
Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t
Sometimes figuring out means having one foot forward while being blind.

But this I tell you,
When the going gets tough,
When the sail seems unsteady,
When the lines between light and dark blurs
When life sips the energy left
Remember that between the Land of the Rising Sun and the Land of the Free lies the North Pacific, a good to know geography.
An ocean so vast, so far, but possible.
Make the call.
Whether you want to sharpen, to rant
To find answers or to pass time
To cry, to gloat,
And to simply talk
I’d be there.
My dearest friend, make the call, I’d be there.

P.S. Happiest Birthday, Ex. Thank you for your warmness and kindness, for checking up on me and asking me how I am. Thank you, thank you, thank you for making things bearable. I miss you! Hugs, soon.
